Wondering if someone could tell me why this is happening? I waste too much time fixing it after reusing a project.
We are using SW2012 with SP5.
We too use a BOM table on part drawings as a sort of material / thickness / finish callout. This additional line shows up particularly with sheetmetal parts - perhaps with others.
The root cause is that the BOM Type defaults to Indented. The quick fix is to click on the BOM table to launch the Bill of Materials Property Manager and change the BOM Type to Parts Only. With our particular BOM template, toggling this setting on an existing table causes column widths to change. So I usually delete and recreate the BOM.
After much BOM table editing I have finally worked checking this setting into my workflow when creating BOM tables anew.
Perhaps someone else can explain the SW functionality that drives this and a way to permanently change the default behavior.
