What is the best way to add a flange gasket to a routing assembly?
There really is no one way. It all depends on your needs. We didn't even put gaskets in our models. We would simply leave a space for the gasket between the flange faces.
If you want to use them in creating a BOM from your route you would probably want to give them a routing point and a couple of connection points and insert them just like any fitting. If you use a mate reference they could be made to snap to the flange OD or raised face.
I add my gaskets to the equipment. I use a route assembly that includes 2 flanges and a gasket and you drop it into the route as one fitting. I also made a route assembly that has 1 flange and a gasket if you want 2 separate routes you can drop a flange onto the gasket. The problem with using a gasket with a route point and connection points is if you use weld gaps, you need to offset for that.
well, you do not need to creat CPs on gasket, since you are rearly going to start or connect a route at a gasket. And your spools should break at a flange/valve. RPs and mating references should suffice here
