Hi everyone,
I have searched for all the forum but I can get a right answer. I would like to know how I make a assembly of a plastic modular belt. I already made a assembly, but is "fixed" and with some errors, specialy in the sprocket area. I would liked to make various assembly with diferent lenghts, knowing that the pitch of the links (p=63.5mm) and the primitive diameter of the sprocket (Øp=206.4mm) is the same.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks already.
Well a couple of things to know about assemblies. By default, the first part/sub-assembly that is inserted into the assembly is fixed about the origin. To change this, right-click (RMB) the part/sub-assembly in the assembly file and select float. You can then mate it like you would any other inserted part/sub-assembly. Another thing is if you want the belt to actually move and function like a belt, then you will have to create an assembly of the belt, with each link being an individual part in the assembly. You could then use the Belt/Chain assembly feature in your main assembly about at least 2 sprockets to make the sprockets move relative to each other. Then you could use a path mate or linear/linear coupler mate (both under advanced mates) to get the chain to move with the sprockets. It'll all depend on how it's mated and the freedoms to move that the assembly has.
