I'm trying to set up my BOM to show the pipe lengths in feet-inches, but it keeps showing as decimal inches. I realized through the Routing Library Manager that I was still referencing the default routing assembly template, so I made a new template with the required units and updated the routing file locations to reference my new template. Then I went back to my drawing with the BOM and it is still showing up as decimal inches. Do I maybe need to reconstruct the BOM and/or routing assembly to see the new template settings or am I missing something?
P.S. I am still pretty new to routing and this is only one of many issues I've been fighting with. So don't be suprised if you see me posting more often on here. Also please feel free to direct me to any topics on the forum where these things have already been discussed.
Thanks.
Hazaa! I fixed it. I wasn't able to switch out the template in the already-existing route assembly with my new template, but I was able to go into the referenced template (the default SW template) and change the units to ft-in. My already-existing route assembly and BOM updated accordingly.
*I realize that making changes to default SW files isn't a great idea, but it sure beats re-building this entire assembly from scratch. I can just go back later when I'm done and change the units back. Hmm.... Perhaps I could have opened up the default template with the route assembly open, done Save As to make a copy (not Save As Copy), then make changes to the copy and (assuming the opened assembly will now re-reference this new copy) have my BOM update that way? I know that method works with assembly/parts, but not sure about templates.
Anyway, problem solved.
