I'm working on setting up our company SW standards (file templates, toolbox, etc) and found a challenge I can't find a good solution to...

Given an drawing with an assembly including Toolbox hardware (say a socket cap screw) how can I have the BOM list the Configuration Name as the part Description?

This is the default setup with Content Center parts in Inventor. Since most of the time I just want to include basic screw size detail (for the shop) I've found this to be an ideal setup and would love to recreate it. When I really need a vendor and part number I can obviously add them to the configuration. But my desire to fill in all those values in the Toolbox config wizard (or via Excel sheet for that matter) is completely lacking.

I can imagine entering something like "SW-Configuration Name" into the description field but that doesn't work and there's no "link to property" option. In fact, what I'd love to do is have the description include the Configuration Name AND Material. So I could do something like "SHCS 0.25-20x1x1, ZP STL" for a zinc plated 1/4-20 x 1"L socket head cap screw. I'd assume I'd have to add ZP steel as a custom material and apply it to the hardware...

So, any thoughts? Is this a BOM setting I'm forgetting about maybe? Or just a pie in the sky request to pass on to my AR? Thanks so much for the help!
