Modeling Y-tube fitting

Question asked by Dan Cook on Jan 28, 2013

I'm trying to model a Y-shaped tube fitting where the axis of the legs of the Y do not intersect the main inlet to the Y (see attached screenshot). This seems to be creating issues with placement because the routing point cannot be coincident with all three connection points as solidworks recommends doing with Tee-type fittings.

What's the proper way to set up this library part so I can drag/drop it onto a split point in a route segment?

In the screenshot below, I'm trying to route 10mm OD tube to the inlet of the Y fitting, and then branch off with two 8mm tubes to other manifolds.

Thanks.
