How to line up the nodes at the interface between two parts?

Question asked by Jeremy Notestine on Jan 24, 2013

I have two mated parts which currently have a "bonded contact set" between them. The two parts have different material properties and a curvature based mesh was used. The mesh size at the interface between the two parts is the same. When I run a study, the stress at the interface was different when probing one part or the other.

I want the nodes to line up between the parts, and therefore share the same interface node numbers. I believe this is sometimes referred to as "seeding." How do I achieve this?

Bonus: How do I probe the interface nodes if there isn't a vertex to select?

Thank you,

Jeremy
