Ditto. Just a minor annoyance.
Unfortunately that is not possible. The rename option is hard-coded into Windows.
Make sure you are only clicking the text once. The rename function should only occur if you second-click an already-selected (highlighted) icon. Try decreasing the double-click speed settings in your mouse software settings.
On my systems, I can keep the cursor on a selected feature without it changing to the rename mode ... unless I select it again. A slow double-click will enable the rename function. A fast double-click will expand the feature and expose the feature dimensions in the graphics area.
I 100% agree with you Daniel. This double click to rename needs to be removed. I frequently wish for the context menu to reappear on a part I have already selected, the same way it does on the first selection. But even if the first click was hours ago, the rename option immediately appears. Very silly.
I can understand that this is probably inherited from whatever API solidworks borrows from windows to run the feature tree Kelvin, but I'm sure there is some workaround.
