I like to create a part template.
I want it to create a field at the properties list with the current date.
I want this to happen once, every time i create a new part.
Does anybody know to do this?
Thanks in advance,
In your note, link to the property,
click the down button,
and select either SW-Short Date (Short Date) or SW-Long Date (Long Date)
I believe that both of the properties that you mentioned update when the file is saved. I don't believe they will give the created date as Avi requested.
You can try the SW-Created Date.
Think you might be right.
He should use SW-Created Date property instead, that doesn't change.
Mark is correct. Instead of linking to short date or long date, use the date created $PRP:"SW-Created Date (Created Date)"
After you have this set, you will now want to save this as your new part template.
one caveat for this method - the date will not update on a file - save as either. this will only give you the correct date for file - new, or create drawing/assembly from operations.
Thank you all very much, it works!
I used the "SW-Created Date". it enters a "long" date.
Can i produce "SW-Created Short Date"?
"SW-Created Date" uses the long date format specified in regional settings. You would need to change the regional setting of your computer.
It forces me to cahnge the regional settings.
I hope there is no side effects for this,
Thank you very much.
