Video Cards for SolidWorks and gaming

Hello everybody,

I have a question regarding video cards.  I've heard that SolidWorks runs badly on gaming cards and after reviewing several threads on these forums I now understand that Solidworks runs better on workstation video cards (Quadro/FirePro/etc) than they do on gaming cards (GeForce/Radeon/etc).  I have also heard that games don't run as well on workstation cards as they do on gaming cards.  Is that true?
