Clip insertion/retention force

I'm pulling my hair out trying to get this analysis to successfully run.


I have a clip that is molded into a part that I'm attempting to simulate. My goal is to determine the insertion force required for assembly and the retention force once installed. I'm allowing the main geometry to pivot about an axis representing one end of the component and am perscribing a displacement on the other end of the component where the user would contact the part. I have a no-penetration contact condition between the clip and the mating geometry. The perscribed displacement is reversing so I can eventually get the force going in both directions.


I've been working on this for a crazy long time and have gotten to a point where the analysis seems to stall at 15% completion and just hang.


The files can be found here along with an animation of a nearly identical analysis that I did a few weeks ago. I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts? I've already been in contact with may VAR and were both having similar issues.
