Custom Configurations

Question asked by Matthew Miller on Dec 12, 2012

Before I went through the process of setting up a proper toolbox with part numbers etc I thought I would just double check that any custom size configurations that I set up within the toolbox would be carried through to the next version of toolbox.  I therefore opened the toolbox manager in SolidWorks 2012, added a custom size washer (50mm) just for ease and assigned a part number of "test".  I then exported the data.  I then open SolidWorks 2012, navigate to the correct toolbox library and import the data.  I found that any part numbers assigned to the default configurations or "sizes" are brought through but my custom size toolbox part is left out completely.  Does this sound correct? If so that means that there is no point adding any custom size toolbox parts?
