I have toolbox available, configured to the hardware I would use however the only toolbox items available are structural steel, bearings, and cams... Where are the other hardware items?

Mark, do you have Solidworks Pro or Preium? The toolbox is not part of solidworks standard.

When you click on the toolbox in the library you should see what is in the attached file. Click on add tool box.

Welcome to the forum. In addition to what Wayne said, go to Tools > Add-ins, and make sure that the boxes are checked on both sides for "SolidWorks Toolbox" and "SolidWorks Toolbox Browser".
