Welcome to the forum. I'm not any kind of authority on hardware, but I do know that the graphics card is a critical component. You might want to add that info to your specs, and then I'm sure someone will be able to help.
The graphics card is called "Mobile Intel(R) 4 series express chipset family"
DAC type is internal
Appox. total memory is 1309MB
I'm not sure what any of that means in terms of graphic cards though.
I would just install SW and try it. Most likekly it will work, just maybe some of the flashy graphics won't function.
Here's a couple links to SW system requirements:
Another options, since you're a student, is I'm assuming you have access to a school computer lab, where hopefully SW is installed on properly equipped machines.
I am going to buy Solidworks student 2012 for my laptop, but I want to know if there is a short trial to see if my laptop is up to the job.
If there isn't can anyone tell me if my laptop will work with solidworks, I want to draw fairly simple models and some FEA.
I have 3gb of RAM, windows vista, 32 bit operating system, and a 1.8Ghz dual core cpu.
Thanks for any help,
