How could I create a flat pattern for a baseball cut in half and shelled to have .06 walls?
This is beyond the scope of SolidWorks Sheet Metal functionality.
The material needs to be drawn and stretched in multiple directions.
You will need software such as LogoPress3, 3DQuickPress or BlankWorks to get a flat pattern.
If you get an older die design book you will likely find formulas to help you do this the old fashion way before there were computers.
Come-on guys, go back to your basics and do a volume comparison.
This dome’s flat blank is a circular sheet! Correct?
SW- Volume (V) =[ pi*(D^2)*t]/4 => D=[4V/(pi*t)]^(1/2)
D= Diameter of the circular blank
t= thickness of the blank material
Anna is correct, SW cannot do multidirectional or stretch forming in multiple axii to reveal a flat pattern.
What is the material being used here?
