I'm working on an articulated model created in SolidWorks for an animated presentation to show off Composer's capabilities to our engineering team. The problem is that when I export the model as an .smg, all articulated connections between the parts are removed and I have to go through and manually set all the parent/child kinematic links (which is a major P.I.T.A. as I'm sure you can imagine).
Is there a way to import/export the model so that associations between parts are maintained for kinematic purposes in Composer?
For the record, I'm working with both SolidWorks 2012 and Composer 2012. I'm a beginner at SW and relatively proficient with Composer.
Thanks in advance and in case there's no way to do this, I'll also ask for a simpler way to establish kinematic links in future editions of Composer. Maybe I'm crazy (probably) but there's got to be an easier way.
Unfortunately that is one of the ways composer works. All mates and any association to other parts is dissolved when made into a .smg file. Any kinematics will have to be redone within Composer. I personally do not like the kinematics in composer. I agree this does need to be corrected in future editions of the software.
