Hi, is there a mold base library along with standard parts for mold tools in Solidworks is it necessary to have a 3rd party piece of software.
Welcome to the forum
I couldn't find a proper library in SW for mold base.
There is one in Design Library Folder, but it is not complete.(just a sample)
You may want to try some 3rd part software to get the full force mold base library with components
There used to be a mold base add on way back in SW2001, gone now because you can get them from the manufacturer.
here is a link to DME: http://d-m-e.sp01.partcommunity.com/PARTcommunity/index.jsf?pageid=4008 this is the CAD file link
Thanks guys, we are going through the process of implementing Solidworks and have or software supplier said we could use the DAKO software for HAsco parts. he is correct only in that it brings in required parts and mold bases but the way the parts are created is less than desirable.
I have used the DME partserver and models from other supplers. Just seem a very poor substitute.
yeah most models from some suppliers are less than perfect, but again you have the size and shape of the tooling you are going to use.
maybe you can sell them on you re-doing all their models???
We use both Hasco and DME components, both installed.
DME components open directly in SW and can save as sldprt or sldasm
With Hasco, we usually export parasolid or step and import into the design.
