Combine two bodies of different parts of an assembly

Hello,

I have a very easy questions...I guess...even though I could not find the solution through the help of the software.
I have an assembly made of different parts.

I would like to combine three bodies of three different parts with the body of another part. The combine allows only to merge parts, whereas I wanna merge bodies.

Is there an easy way for doing it, or the easiest way would be to combine the parts in a new part and then slowly cut all the bodies which are not needed?

You will need to combine the parts into a single part in order to combine the bodies.

As far as cutting away unwanted bodies, you might be able to use the Indent or Combine features.

Thanks a lot...I hoped there was an easier manner...since the model is quite big, it will take quite a lot of time to do it....I hoped there was a method to merge bodies.

Right click on the body folder and select save bodies. Select the body you want to combine with other part and save it. Repeat this for all the three parts. Now insert them all into the part with which you want to join them. Finally use combine.

That's what I have done in the end. Put all the bodie together in one part, and then combined them. I hope that making changes to the body in the original part, will change the body coming out from this process of combination.

I guess I was hoping bodies coule beheave like parts, but they don't, so it's not possible to share bodies between parts, unless you put the bodies together in a new part.

there is also another way if they are different parts with only one body per part in the assembly.

it is called JOIN, before multible bodies were in SW this was the only way to make a new single part from many parts.

Join PropertyManager

You create a joined part from two or more other parts. Set options as described below.

Parts to Join

Parts to Join . Select two or more parts to join (in the FeatureManager design tree or the graphics window).

Options

Hide parts. Select to hide the original parts after the join is complete.

Force surface contact. Select to extend any overhanging features up to the next feature on the other part. The software finds the affected faces, then extends the part containing the face with the smallest area into the other part, and fills in any resultant gaps.

Unfortunately there is more than one body per part.

If you were to cut away the unwated bodies method try this = Split -> Cut part (select as many surfaces as you want then trim the part away by selected them after pressing cut part) See pics below:
