When I try to run recognize features option. I get the following error 'Feature Works cannot proceed further'. This is a single part so there are no interference issues, and to best of my knowledge there are no overlapping solids, is there a way I can check this.

I have tried identifying each component individually and it still gives the same error. The part is not complex. It’s relatively simple; I can post the model if required.
I am not sure what u meant by 3d faces and features

Check the bodies folder and see how many there are.

It's depends on the complexicity of the part.
Instead of automatic recognition, you can try interactive and select different features
If you have any 3D faces/features, chances are to fail the feature recognition
Can you please post the data here, someone else can try.
