i need to select all center points of a selection of circles .
even when activating all selection filters , solidworks does not select circle centers .
thanks for any advice
Can you use ctrl select?
ctrl select works but is very long as i have to pick center points one by one . i would prefer a filter select method
How you've created the center points? In case you talking about the center points of sketched circle, you'll have to manually select them one by one (with ctrl key pressed). There is no direct way to select them all.
hard to believe the makers of this expensive program did not think of an obvious thing like that . thank you anyway
I'm sure using API/macro it should be do able.
What are you using the centres for? How did you create the circles in the first place? If you use features such a hole wizard and sketch driven patterns there are generally ways around these types of issues.
I think Marc has a good point. You might sketch a bunch of circles and then want to align them all horizontally or vertically.
In that instance, in my sketch I would draw one circle and several points where I'd like to rest to be. Create my feature, then sketch driven pattern the feature using its own sketch. Thats assuming all the holes ar the same size.
If you want to draw all the circles and you didn't lay down any refernce geometry, you can still join the centres with centrelines and then align them by making them colinear.
I can appreciate the reasons, but there are ways around these things with a little design intent and knowing the logic of the software.
