If you are going to use the points to generate Loft or Boundary or Fill Surfaces, then it seems like using the Curve Through Points would be the way to go. I believe you can import the curve data from Excel. You would have to split the points up into sets for the various curves.
I seem to recall other people asking for the ability to import point data, so a search on key phrases is liable to turn something up.

You can only edit values in a design table. Jerry suggests a way to do that.
Scan to 3D is a tool in SolidWorks premium that imports point data (cloud points) for import into SolidWorks:
There are also macros on this forum (I edited one) that do it as well, but they only work for a small number of points.
