Hi, I got an AutoCAD assembly model from my supervisor. How do I convert it into a SolidWorks assembly file?
Convert the auto-cad file into .sat format
& then open solidowrks, open,.browse your location with .sat & open it
Hi Kundan,
If I open the .sat in solidwork, will it be just a imported file or still an assembly file?
Chua Shin Thian,
I don't think I have ever imported a .sat file, but if it works like the other imports, it will come in as an assembly. It won't have any mates, so you will need to Fix all of the parts or add the appropriate mates.

PS. How should I address you? Is Chua your family name or your given name?
What version and format of AutoCAD 3D was the assy created in?
What version of SW are you running?
