Does any one know whether it is possible to have Solid Works calculate the weight of a part without all of its cutouts? We want the calculated weight to be closer to the actual material that is used, and scrapped rather than the actual weight of the part. Example: we cut a 36" X 72" piece of sheet metal for the part, but the part has a 24"x 48" cutout in the middle. we need the weight of the 36"x 72" piece as a whole because the 24"X 48" piece is scrap and should also be figured into the cost of the part.
