I am trying to install SolidWorks 2011 SP2.0 on the computers in my school's Robotics lab. Everything goes simple and straight forward, until the SolidWorks installation gives me this dialog:
"Specify the port number and server name for the SolidWork License (SNL) server."
I put in the default along with the server I am on (My school-wide server). And it gives me the dialog:
"The installation Manager cannot verify this server exists."
I Keep going. And finish the install with no troubles. I then go to run SolidWorks for the first time on these computers and get:
"Could not obtain a license for SolidWorks Standard
Server node is down or not responding.
(-96,7,11004)"
I have seen 3 or so posts with this same error, but I believe my situation is different because I am on school computers, on a network. (I also also fearful that my protective School District has blocked me from validating my key [which is 100% legal]) but that would be strange because I downloaded SolidWorks in the first place.
Thanks, hope someone can help me and my Robotics team,
