Is there a way to display mates similar to Sketch Relations in the graphics window? I'm getting tired of digging around in the mates column.

click (or right click depending on your settings) on a part to bring up the context toolbar. and select the view mates command.
I don't think so, but you can RMB on a component in the tree and choose the Display Mates icon. You can also expand the tree for the component. The mates for that component will be listed in the Mates folder, with the "to ground" icon beside the mates that are defining the position for that component. Does that help?
