Can I export a solidworks e drawing file to a .dwg file?

Just after a little bit of help.

A colleague of mine has sent a file for me to measure, so I can save as a .dwg or PDF file for him to see.

He has sent the original file in a solidworks e drawing file. (EASM)

Is there any way I can export this file to a normal solidworks .dwg file so I can make a technical drawing from it?

I have tried doing so by saving the file as a .prt or .sldasm file but Ive had no luck.

Would appreciate any help on this.

There is no direct way. The only option might be to make a STL out this edrawing (one need to keep this option while saving SW part/assembly as e-drawing). Then importing it via Scan to 3D or a third party software (meshlab) and then create the drawing.

I would be interested to know that if your colleague already has all the file then what he/she is unable to do and sent your way to do that. In case you've to work on it, can you ask him/her to send you the SolidWorks files itself.
