My company is currently switching from Pro-E Wildfire 3.0 to SW 2012. One of the designers has imported some Ppro-E part files and is attempting to create an assembly using these parts. However, there seems to be an issue with mating. Here is an example of what is happening;
Relatively simple plate type part with a boss/ gasket surface. When assembling the gasket to the mating part the following mates are tried;
A. Coincident between the face of the gasket and the face of the mating surface.
B. Concentric between alignment stud on part and bolt hole in gasket (one end)
C. Concentric between alignment stud on the other end of the part and the locating hole in the gasket.
Error message reads "over constrained".
We have checked the dimensions of the studs relative to the holes in the gasket and any other dimension associated. There is no mis-alignment, etc.
Our current "work-around" is to mate per A and B above and then mate the slot in the gasket parallel to the slot in the mating part.
Is there a possibility that a round off error is occurring during the conversion from Pro-E to SW? Any other thoughts, experiences, etc.?
We are scratching our heads here....
