i have modeled a large assembly
and i want a BOM of SELECTED COMPONENTS from the assembly.
TOTAL COMPONENTS IN ASSEMBLY IS AROUND 1000
can anyone suggest better and faster way rather than to exclude or suprees configuration method.

click open
select the desired assembly
select <advanced> in the configuration list
Select the 3rd option in the configure document window and name your BOM
This will open the file displaying the new configuration "short BOM" with all the assembly's components suppressed
Select the components that you wish to list in your BOM using the control button
Right click on one of the selected components
choose "set to resolved" in the appearing menu
If you'll insert a BOM table, you'll find there just the selected components:
In the drawing you can specify BOMs for specific configurations.

Select all those component and make a new sub assy. Get the BOM for that and use as required. Later you can dissolve the sub assy.
