Recently something has changed to when I convert a 3D model to a 2D drawing. I can no longer pull the view(s) that I want on the page. I now have to select a view angle. Also my BOM no longer displays the description. I show a item no., part number, qty.
Any suggestions or help to correct this would be greatly appreciated.

I am not familiar with the procedures for manipulating the BOM templates. As I mentioned these changes have come just recently and probably due to me making adjustments to the sheet format.
If you are willing to lend some of your experiences with this program in this area I would be very grateful.

For you first issue, make sure "Auto-start projected view option is selected (check video).
For you second issue, you need to add a new column and set the property to Description (check video). After you do it, right click on the BOM and select saveas and set this as your new BOM template

It should be below display state and make sure you are expanding the option button under display state.
James, are you pulling your drawing views from the view palette in the task pane?

I played around with the view palette tonight and found that for some reason the model file was not loaded. Once I clicked on the model number in the drop down menue the views have come back into the view palette. However I am now unable to pull different views from the initial view that I load. Prior to this problem I could load one view from the palette and use the cursor to pull other views from that initial view.

For inserting views in a drawing, you can always click on the Model View button on the View Layout tab at the top of your screen. That will open up the CommandManager where you can choose an open file to insert, or Browse for a file. After you have selected your file, click on the blue arrow at the top right of the CommandManager to go to the second page, where you can select the view, line style, scale, and a number of other options.
I see Deepak answered your question about adding a column to your BOM and saving it, but be sure to ask if you have more questions about it.

Welcome to the forum. I don't know about the views, but on the BOM you should be able to add a column for description and save the BOM template. Are you familiar with the procedure for doing that?
