Often, I will have multiple configurations to a part.  Usually, all (or at least most) of the model dimensions should be the same in all configurations.  However, I've noticed that many of the dimensions that should be for "all configurations" randomly changed to "this configuration only".

For example, if I create a part and do nothing more than add configurations to it, all dimensions should be "all configurations".  However, I've noticed that over time and after several edits, there are some dimensions that have switched to "this configuration only", even though the values are the same for each configuration.

Now comes the hard part.  We have hundreds, if not thousands of parts that have been created over the last 10 years or so.  Many of the multi-config parts have a random number of dimensions that should be "all configurations", but have switched to "this configuration only".  Currently, the only way I know how to find and correct these dimensions is to first auto-create a design table.  There will be dimensions that show the same value for all of the configurations.  I then print the design table.  I then literally search the model and correct these dimensions to "all configurations" one by one.  This takes a lot of time.

So, I have 3 questions:

1. What causes the dimensions to change from "all configurations" to "this configuration only", when it was not selected during an edit?  I've often wondered if editing the dimensions in the drawings rather than the parts causes this.  But I've not been able to prove this.

2. Is there an easier way to find the dimensions that are set to "this configuration only" other than auto-creating a design table?

3. Is there an easier way to set these dimensions to "all configurations" other than one at a time?  Hoping there is a way to globally set this option to all dimensions at the same time...
