We use PDM Works to store our drawings and models, some models have over 200 plus configs. I was wondering how long it should take to check in drawings to PDM. It has taken me over 6 hours to check in 275 drawings, is this normal? The part is very simple and configs are driven by a design table. We are using Solid Works 2012. Does it all rely on my server speed?
If you're using the 'Bulk Check-in' tool in the administrator, that does seem a bit long. Where are the files stored?

I will have to do some checking to see if we are using the "Bullk Check in". The files are located on my local drive.
I have checked with IT and they are unaware of a "Bulk Check ib" tool, can you give me more information?
If you are purposefully trying to check in 275 drawings all at once, it might take this long if SolidWorks has to try to resolve file references for each part and drawing. Take a look at your Workgroup Options (RMB in the Vault area) > Command Defaults tab and turn off the Include Drawings option.
I've seen it take 10 minutes for the Check In dialog just to come up with just an assembly becasue it was looking for drawing references.
Ok I did have this checked, I guess I miss understood the meaning of this feature. I am creating a single part that has a many configurations driven by a design table, at the time of check in the part is not referenced to an assembly.
I thought this feature would select all the drawings that were associated to that part.
