Autosaves a .sldprt file when opening a Cadkey (.prt) file

When I open one of our legacy Cadkey part files from one of our customer folders on our network drive, Solidworks automatically saves a .sldprt file with the same name back to the folder it was pulled from. Even if I just look at the file in SolidWorks and do not save the file.

Is there a way to turn this feature off?

Thanks much as always!!!
