am unable to do cam mate, whenever i try to do cam mate it shows the following error." the selected faces do not form a closed and continous cam extruded from a single profile". is this because of modelling issue? or problem with solid works itself. am using 2011 version.

Its taking long time, am unalbe to upload file
Open the assembly and go to File menu and select pack and Go. Now in the pack and go window, select the zip option and create a zip file of all the files. Check the size and then upload here.

if i upload only cam is it ok, since entire design i cant upload.
Cam and follower will do the job.

Are all faces of the cam tangent to their neighbors and created by an extrude-boss feature?

Its actually converted directly from autocad. will it sounds different when compared to direct 3D model ?
What I have been told is that the cam mate will not work properly (or at all for that matter!!!) unless the outer profiles form one, continous chain. Such would be accomplished by using a spline or oval or something like that. If you had used something like a square that had fillets on the corners (as indicated by the lines SW draws across the transition from one surface to another) then it will not work.
Denny, without looking at the files, it'll be difficult to comment any things for the reasons. Can you post your files here.
