Hello everyone,
I am having an issue with a weldment. I want to have seperate cutlist's for different configurations. Can anyone advise on how this is acheived? (if it's even possible!)
I'm using SW 2012 SP01. Cheers

We use configurations with weldments and the cut list updates for each part. Properties like length, weight show up correctly in the cut list for each configuration. So does any cut-list property which links a dimension: the dimension updates to whatever it is in that configuration.
Other than this, there is no current option for configuration-specific cut list properties like you have for file properties, but there is a workaround of linking a file property and making that configuration specific. (We use a Solidworks add-in called AutoStruct which automatically gives a part number to each distinct weldment body, and when there are multiple configurations, it uses this workaround to give the body a part number in each configuration which is different if the bodies are different.)
I might not fully understand what you need, but would it help to insert two (or more) cut lists in the drawing and relate them to the different configurations? You can also relate any drawing view with a given config to a cutlist based on a different config in the view property box (se below).
I am trying out different things my self these days and I am kind of dissapointed. I was hoping to be able to add several configs to one cut list, as you can in a BOM. I've tried many things to achive this, but with no luck.
Past experience would say don't use configurations with weldments, especially if the configurations become complicated.
From your post it's not clear what the actual problem is. Are the cutlists on a drawing?
When you change configuration the cutlist usually updates to refelct the current configuration.
