I have a library of over 1,000 parts. The material is applied at the assembly level, since there are over 40 different possible materials. I make all the parts virtual first. Now I can simply drag an appearance, associated with the material, and it will change the part appearance. This is perfect for when I render the part out but does not work for the BOM, which pulls the data from the material.
Now, I cna simply click "edit material" on each part, or multiple parts. IT would be quicker to drag an appearance onto colors, which would save a few seconds for each part. Most assemblies are well over 400 parts, so the extra time adds up.
Is there any easy way to do this? Or have the appearance drive the material in the BOM?
