Can anybody tell me what this icon is in the workgroup PDM ?
This appears above the assemblies / parts under a project folder. This is with one particular client and other clients doesn't have these !
One of my collegue, Spent a lot of time finding it out and that icon is called document ranges.
From the Help Files: Document ranges in vault tree You can group documents into ranges in the vault view display. Ranges apply to the first level of documents in a project. Setting ranges improves performance. Documents are grouped by document name and placed in folders named with the first and last document in the folder (doc000000.dwg...doc000499.dwg, for example). Documents per range. Specify the number of documents per group. To turn off this functionality, set the value to zero. Also see solution S-014696
Hope this helps!
Never seen it. Can you highlight it? Doc properties?
Help does state this....Document icons represent the application that handles the associated data type. If the Windows icon appears, there is no application on your computer that is associated with that data type. Application files that contain a .exe extension appear with the default application icon.
a little bigger screenshot would be nice.
Thanks for the info! I was not aware of that functionality in Workgroup PDM. It certainly is not talked about anyware that I am aware of. It almost seems like something that you would find in Enterprise version. Do you know where the setting takes place (Vault Admin, etc)?
I too was not aware of this so rarely used functionality, Its not in EPDM but on WGPDM.
This was the setting in client > options > Preview tab.
It is interesting how a person can look at something and not "see" the choices available. Here is a capture of the screen in WPDM that controls it.
