Hi,
I have a molding tool which I have designed around a part.
For some reason the drafting tool wont let me add draft to the outside faces of the tool below the fillet.
I would like a 1deg draft angle to allow for easier vac forming process but I cant understand why solidworks wont let me do it.
Would anyone be kind enough to help me with this and tell me why its not working - cannot figure it out at all?

Hi Tom I managed to draft the external walls using the line created by the final of the radius as parting line
and the down face as direction of pull, Check it out in the file to see if that solves your problem.

Yeah that worked ! Thanks alot for your help.
I knerw it would be something really simple, I think I even tried that once but must have got direction of pull wrong or seomthing small that made it go wrong.

Glad to hear it helps, in a normal situation the ideal thing is to do the draft before the fillets, but I saw that the part you imported alredy had the fillets. We are all learning with this stuff, each work is a different one and presents us with new challenges. Sometimes the easier looking ones are the worst nightmares.
Yeah, it was because the client sent me the part file with all the features on.
And obviously I couldnt change them but we needed to make some modifications to the tool before tooling.

Tom,
You can delete the problem surfaces(rads) and add draft.
Apply the rad again
This way you have the option to add draft either from top or bottom
