Trying to figure out the best way to rip the sides in order to insert bends for unfolding in sheetmetal.

sorry for my english, I come from quebec and i'm french... in the case you want to do your sheetmetal in that way, you can use convert in sheetmetal tool. just take a look on my part and if it does not give you hints, ask me by e-mail
I agree with Simon on this, start with an solid then convert to sheet metal. Add the bottom flanges last to define the type of notching, either miter or square.
Thanks for the help guys. Things would have been easier for me if all 4 angled flanges were typical but they were not. Opposite side angles were the same as per my original sample. I also needed a sharp bend radius and a minimum amount of gap for corner welding.
I was able to get it to rip the angled corners completely by adding a relief hole on all 4 corners of the top surface.
