HI All!
I am trying to create a curved circular plate in a sheet metal format. This is so I can then flatten the shape which will show the profile to be cut. It then gets welded to a circular shell.
Attached is how I have been trying to do it but I have got stuck when it comes to flattening the plate.
We have several standard sizes we use so I would like to make configuration for these sizes.
Any help would be great!!!
Thanks in advance,
Jonno
Jonathan,
Try putting a very small straight section in the middle of your profile instead of at an edge. Yes, this is not quite design intent of a smooth radius, but if you make the flat on the order of 1mm wide you'll never see it in manufacturing. This will leave a base for the fold operation after your cuts.
