I am trying to simulate contact of a wire loop-like geomety in contact with a slope. This hook is riding along the x-axis and when it reaches the slope then instead of keep going along X it then raises along Y-axis.
This illustration has the wire loop and in front is the angled plane it needs to follow.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jorge
Jorge,
What is the purpose of your "simulation" of the movement of the part?
You can do a real simulation with SolidWorks Simulation that will show you the deflection of the part and the stresses and strains in it, assuming that it is fixed at some point and deflects like a spring.
You can do a real simulation with Motion Studies that will show you the motion of the part and the forces on the part and the parts it touches, assuming that it is free to move.
Assuming that the part is free to move, but mated properly to other parts, you can use the Physical Dynamics option on the Move Component feature to move it through its range of motion as it contacts the slope.
Assuming that the part is free to move and mated properly to other parts, you could generate a curve and then use the Path Mate to show the proper motion as it contacts the slope.
