Hi,
Does any one have the approximate release date for SolidWorks 2013. Is it as other years, the back end of September early October?
I need to know, as our IT Dept will need at least a months notice to do my computer upgrades.
At present I am using Windows XP on 32bit with a Nvidia Quadro FX1700 card.
As SolidWorks 2013 will not install onto Windows XP our IT dept are upgrading me to Windows 7 @ 64bit.
Would I also need a better video card and what sort of minimum Ram is recommended?
Also I have in the past upgraded by using the SolidWorks installation manager and searching for upgrades and letting it do it automatically.
When I change from 32bit to 64bit will it download the correct version of SolidWorks automatically (I assume there is still a 32bit versions as well as a 64bit version).
Or do i have to select the correct OS etc? These are questions our IT Dept will need to know.
Thanks
Mark (SolidWorks 2012 sp4)
Hi Mark,
Probably the SWX 2013 will launch in 1st or 2nd week of October as it was the similar case in its previous releases also.
If you use more than 2GB of RAM you need Microsoft Windows 7 x64bit. For more details check the below link:

Regarding your last query I believe you need to select the right download based on your OS, while downloading it from the Customer Portal.
Hope this helps.
