Hi I have a very complicated assembly which I am trying to get the stress analysis done. In the assembly there are some parts that were ment to be bolted, but the guy who did the drawing didn't put any holes in there. So, I can't define bolt connectors there. So, I was thinking what component contact condition should I impose between those parts to get the similar load effect. i.e. I don't have enough time to redraw. Is no penetration a good enough or should I go for bonded?
Or just use "allow penetration" and fix the faces close to the bolt joints. Then find the reactions at those faces to do estimate the bolt loads quick and dirty. That's more conservative than a bonded mesh, in some cases. Plus its quicker than no pen or bonded.
