I'm trying to apply a gold film type bump map to a body to make it look like this. I applied a polished gold color to the body, then applied a Rough 2 surface finish to the part. Doing so gives the body an appearance of being covered in gold sand. To fix that, I increased the size/orientation of the bump map to a 1:1 aspect ratio with a frame size of 700mm. This is what the resulting body looks like:
When I render it now, it obviously looks very pixelated, and doesn't really have the appearance of gold film. If I decrease the frame size of the surface finish, the pixelation goes away, but then it appears to be made of sand.
Does anyone know of a combination of settings that will yield a realistic crumbled foil finish?
