I am getting "Install FAILED with code 1620" when trying to do a fresh install of Solidworks 2012 SP4 License Server on Windows Server 2008 R2.
Please assist. The installer was downloaded from Solidworks website.
"There are a number of possible causes of this error:
-This may happen if SolidWorks is already running when the installation is launched. Please exit SolidWorks, or terminate the sldworks.exe process. Then you should be able to install without error.
-Insufficient permissions to certain directories (such as to the C:\Windows\Installer, C:\TEMP, and local TEMP folder)
-A memory caching error on the CD/DVD-ROM Drive
-bad/scratched SolidWorks installations DVD
A common test/work around is to copy the contents of the DVD onto a local disk and install from there (by clicking the <copy directory>\sldim\sldim.exe). Additionally, the user should also try the download of the installation files using the Installation Manager."
Alin, thanks. I've narrowed it down to being an issue with the SP4 version of SolidWorks 2012 License Server. I was able to install SP3 without issue and get same error when trying to upgrade SP3 to SP4.
