    Issues with 3d sketch

    Shannan Summers

I was following along with the video "buyers guide weldment" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtqXUuNZKog

But ran into problems with over defining the sketch when defining the dimensions. I do notice in the video that I am getting different relations icons when drawing though.

As far as I can see I am copying the actions exactly, but I assume that when initially using the center rectangle tool that it's not creating the correct relations.

For example when drawing the verticle lines from each corner I can see in the video they get perpendicular icons where I get concentric circles?

          Welcome to SolidWorks forums Shannan.

Make sure your working in 3d sketch and not 2d sketch. And while you're 3d sketch, you can hit TAB to get into the required plane.

If this doesn't solve the issue, please upload a file here to check. BTW what SW version and SP you using.

Please use "advanced editor" in case you want to attach any files.
