I have a part that I've applied a decal to the center of. But when I open a PV360 preview window, or a final render, the decal is shifted off to the side, mostly off the part. See image.
What's going on?
Note sure, however there is no logo with the file.
Having the same issue now with a different part, different decal, and different version of SolidWorks (2013).
don't use "Label" mapping default but one of the other ones like "Projection"
I had a similar problem with several decals on a large assembly. Some decals would move and others wouldn't. I originally set the decals up using the plane projection (XY, YZ, XZ) in the mapping settings. Typically the decals that moved used the mirror function, either horizontal or vertical.
The way I was able to solve the issue was to change the decal mapping setting to Projection --> Current View (instead of Label, XY, etc). (see image below) Then cycle through the standard views and "Update to Current" each time until you get the correct orientation. Sometimes I had to rotate 90 or 180 degrees but avoided the mirror functions.
Hope that helps.
I am still encountering this issue. Would have thought Solidworks would fix something like this.
As above It seems to be only in XY, YZ, XZ projection planes and when the decal is flipped horizontally or vertically.
The way we are getting around it is creating mirrored decals in Photoshop for reverse sides so that the mirror feature doesn't have to get used.
Hi Mark Dougall
Please submit an example model to your reseller's technical support. Sounds like this could be an instance of SPR 636586 - your reseller will work with our support team to verify this, and then add you to the SPR so you are notified when it's fixed.
Ok that's me sent an email to technical support now.
