I have no real experience of PDM, I come here to ask helps:
is there any PDM software support web taskes&activities, that is, our outside sale, client may access to our database through internet. I hope all project management activities or design tasks can be dumped/merged into the same vault.
If you knew please list the software here, it is better to add its brief introduction.

There is also a Workgroup PDM viewer licence option. This is an add-on to the server and allows read-only access through a browser. If network access and firewalls are configured properly, this access can be from anywhere. The product is not easy to find on the SolidWorks site, it is best to ask your VAR about it.
Have you looked at Teamplatform? It is cheap and it is really easy to setup.
You can sync online workspaces to the folders on your server or your vault.
If you are collaborating with design partners, you can share (bi-directionally) in the workspaces.
If you only want one-way-sharing, you set workspaces to read-only.
The system is completely online. It has an assembly browser, versioning, online previews of 3D parts and assemblies, tables of meta-data, vector rendering of drawings, plus comments, markup, tasks, a calendar and very unique 'pages' for collaborative authoring and web publishing. As I mentioned, it is all on-line, and it works with native SolidWorks data.

Workgroup PDM is being used today.
Most engineers catch on quickly because it's fast and flexible. And like I mentioned, it's cheap and really easy to setup so IT likes it. And managers like it because there's a dashboard so they can stay involved.
SolidWorks PDM Enterprise can do that, not cheap and will take some skill and time to set up. Talk to your SolidWorks VAR, I'm sure they'd be happy to help.
