Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to mate a part to another part in my assembly, but every time I try do 1 or 2 mates, the part that I am mating starts to block the part that I'm mating to.

What can I do to allow me to select faces/edges behind that part.

Is there a way to make the part that I'm mating un-selectable when clicking on the part it's mating to and vice-versa? Like in Pro Engineer? I don't understand why it even lets me select the part that I'm mating, I can't mate a part to itself ?!

Please help me out, thought I could right click on the part and hide it, but then, the original face I was mating (on the part that's hidden) becomes un-selected, and I can't figure out how to un-hide it.

What is the best way to do this,

I have an (imported) assembly with a lot of parts that are already in correct position but don't have any constraints, and I don't want to move each of them out of the way and try to mate them in such an order that the last few mates will be selectable.

Thanks,

-Dmitry
