Tried running my copy of SW 2011, S5 that has been running fine and am now getting the blue screen of death every time I try and start the program.  Have gone as far as trying to uninstall, but that gets me the blue screen as well.  Tried uninstalling in safe mode and am able to see that the error is as follows:

22:29:31 Info Status 0 "CREATING INSTALL STEP 0 to REMOVE: prod=Explorer, code={5F590D74-AA75-410F-A778-3CDFCE12DCD4}, cost=692265KB, version=20110-40000-1100"

22:29:37 Error Status 0 "***END DUMP OF WINDOWS INSTALLER DATA***"

22:29:37 Error Step 0 "** Remove FAILED with code 1601"

Error code 1601 points to a windows installer error.  Have tired everything under the sun including MS Fix IT programs to try and correct this with no luck.

Am thinking that my only option is to manually remove.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?  Also where could I find a good set of instructions to manually remove?

Thanks,

Dan
