I am simulation air flow through a piece of machinery. The air contains very fine (they do not influence the hydraulics of flow) particles of bentonite that erode surfaces in the machine where the flow changes direction. I would like to "tweak" the geometry of the erosion prone areas to reduce metal removal rates. Does anyone have experience with erosion studies like this and if so, what output parameters (vorticity, turbulent intensity, etc.) would be the best suited to visualize and quantify erosion? I'd start with exploring the options in Particle Studies.
I've used the features to investigate where particles accumulate, but never the erosion calculations. It tracks the particles based on size, density, etc. and you provide data on the erosion parameters.
